Phew. Okay, this is why there haven't been any updates since December. (Actually, there are updates for January, they just weren't online. Go look!) Sorry about that. Yes, yes, you're thinking, "You changed the colors. Why did that take 6 weeks?" It was a bit more complicated than that, since even just changing the colors required me relearning all the stuff about stylesheets that I'd forgotten, and there are some behind-the-scenes changes that don't make a big difference for you, but make things a lot nicer for me. Most of that is due to my shiny new computer, which can handle much larger files. But it's still not very interesting to talk about, so I won't.
But don't the buttons look nice on a black background? I kind of wanted to get rid of making the header a different color, but it was just so pretty that I couldn't resist.
If the color scheme is driving you insane, let me know. I did use a pretty nifty utility to get something that wouldn't make your eyes bleed (I hope), but I'm still a little concerned that the background might be too dark. I chose the color because it matches a graphic that still isn't online. But will be. Someday. I hope. A bunch of old content is 85% ready to go back online, but I don't think I'll have time to deal with the last 15% until Angel is in reruns again. Which won't be till March now. Damn them. Er, and in the new scheme, entries like this one, which aren't actually about media at all except in a self-referential way, will also have a place to go. I still don't expect to do a traditional journal-type site really, but at least if I want to tell a story, there'll be a place to do that. Anyway, if the color scheme looks particularly awful, or something else seems wrong in your browser, do let me know. I'm using Safari but I did check things with Explorer and it looked okay. And now I'm gonna go do laundry.
And because I'm so behind in plugging it: if you're at all interested in attending JournalCon 2004, you should pop on over to the boards and chat because there are a lot of cool people there. And me, as well. The date has been picked: it'll be Aug 20 - 22.
P.S. In the spirit of random journally personal details: I'm an aunt! Think of that, and tremble.

Weirder and weirder. Okay, years and years ago I mentioned that my local CBS affiliate, WUSA was using The Cure's "Love Song" as a soundtrack for ads promoting their morning news. Seemed like an odd choice.
Just a second ago I caught another ad for the same channel, but now they're using The Offspring's "The Kid's Aren't Alright" in ads promoting their traffic coverage.
